Geneva Office Building Restoration

San Francisco Beautiful facilitates the Committee to Restore the Geneva Office Building and Powerhouse.  This 100-year-old city landmark in the Outer Mission was slated for demolition by its owners, the Municipal Railway.  Under San Francisco Beautiful´s leadership, the Committee obtained a commitment from the Mayor to preserve the building.  In 2001 the Committee secured $540,000 in state funding for the restoration, as well as $75,000 from the City of San Francisco for the redesign of the building.  San Francisco Beautiful is the fiscal agent for the latter grant.
